Ali and Colin ‘Del’ de la Mare have been running the Captains Guernsey since 1995 and they are the heart and soul of the place. The Captains has nine en-suite bedrooms, all equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities, televisions and extra touches like a dish a sweets and nice toiletries.The price is £49.50 per person per night and includes a choice of breakfasts (£45.00 room only). It should also be noted that there is no single occupancy charge for any of the rooms. It’s no wonder so many guests come back year after year!

July of this year also saw the opening of the new upstairs bar at the Captains, light and airy with more of a contemporary feel in contrast with the more traditional feel of downstairs. The new decking area has proved popular for a lunchtime snack and is particularly busy for a late afternoon drink with the locals.
The centre of St Martins is a short stroll away with its eclectic mix of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel which gives easy access to St Peters Port through a regular bus service. The Captains is a mere five minutes stroll away from some stunning cliff top walks and offers a prime location from which to visit many famous attractions throughout Guernsey such as Castle Cornet, The Underground Museum, The Little Chapel, The Underground Hospital, Aquarium and Victor Hugo’s House to name but a few. However you choose to spend your leisure time, the Captains is the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the delights of Guernsey and the surrounding Islands.
The Captains is a pub in the traditional style with warm carpets, low ceilings with original oak beams and walls adorned with brass and copper memorabilia. It offers comfortable rooms at great prices and is a world away from the UK chains and so-called ‘gastro pubs’.

The Tavern and Bistro at The Captain's have an enviable reputation for good food that has been built over many years. As well as traditional bar meals, the menu features many of Ali & Del's personal favourites including Seafood Au Gratin, Lobster Thermidor and fresh local Sea Bass as well as best sellers such as Steak and Stilton.
